All Recognition Level Sponsors - Annual Event 2024

We are looking forward to catching up with old friends and making new ones at this year’s celebration, which will be hosted dockside on the covered outdoor patio and gardens at Seasons 52 in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The evening will be full of fun, food and live entertainment as we all come together to support marine science education programs for youth in our community. R/V ANGARI will also be on site and open for tours. Concurrent with this event will be an online silent auction, which will go live on Monday, April 1, 2024.

This celebration would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsors, including Gold Sponsor Onshore Construction & Development, Silver Sponsors Sentient Jet and Bentley Palm Beach and Bronze Sponsors Kenneth S. Morton and Benjamin F. Edwards.

Tickets may be purchased and the silent auction will be accessible through the event webpage. Tickets will not be available for purchase on the day of the event.

A SHARKY SPRING FOR COASTAL OCEAN EXPLORERS

Spring 2024 Coastal Ocean Explorers: Sharks expeditions on R/V ANGARI. All research conducted under permits held by FIU scientists.

What a fin-tastic spring of Coastal Ocean Explorers: Sharks programming! We engaged 340+ students and teachers during school visits with Chief Scientist Sara Casareto. We then welcomed youth and mentors from the Women's Foundation of Florida STEAM Academy, Oxbridge Academy, Palm Beach Day Academy and The Benjamin School onboard R/V ANGARI for hands-on experiences working side-by-side with Florida International University scientists to study marine life off Palm Beach County. Across 4 expeditions, 15 sharks were caught, studied and released!

Thank you to Great Charity Challenge, Women's Foundation of Florida, Palm Beach Day Academy and Oxbridge Academy for making these expeditions possible, and to the Flotilla Club for their ongoing support! Learn more about our spring expeditions or apply for upcoming opportunities here.

CAPTAIN ANGELA SHARES HER EXPERTISE AT MARINE INDUSTRY CAREER DAY AND FLOTILLA 54 MEETING

Marine Industry Career Day 2024

The last few months have been busy for Captain Angela who was invited to speak about ANGARI Foundation and our research vessel operations at February's Flotilla 54 USCG Auxiliary meeting.

2024 SETS UP TO BE AN IMPACTFUL YEAR FOR COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND OUTREACH

We have had a busy and impactful start to the year, connecting with over 2,000 members of the public at the South Florida Fair, ManateeFest, TurtleFest and a Roger Dean Spring Training Game!

We shared our Generation Ocean: Coral Reefs 360 film, Coastal Ocean Explorers: Sharks programming and our great hammerhead 3D model, Nemesis. Our wide variety of activities lets all ages participate and learn hands-on. We cannot wait to continue educating and sharing science with everyone at upcoming public events later this year!

KEEP YOUR EYES PEELED FOR LAGOON DRIFT CARDS!

Save the date! On April 25th we will be beginning the 11th experiment of our long-term Lagoon Drift Card Study. This citizen science study examines the motion of marine debris in and around the Lake Worth Lagoon region.

Keep your eyes peeled for our bright purple wooden drift cards in the weeks after their release as this study relies on community members like you reporting any cards that you may find. Head to the Lagoon Drift webpage to find out more and read about previous experiments.
