LAGOON DRIFT CITIZEN SCIENCE STUDY CONTINUES
We are wrapping up the 9th experiment in our Lagoon Drift citizen science study examining water and pollutant motion along the east coast of Florida, and we want to thank all of those who participated, including students and teachers from Eagles Landing Middle School, The Benjamin School and Palm Beach Day Academy. We are extremely grateful to Great Charity Challenge for supporting our study!
Planning is underway for our Fall 2023 experiment, and those interested in getting students involved are encouraged to contact us at education@angari.org.
OCEAN EXPERT EXCHANGE ENGAGEMENT GROWS
Working with our partners at the University of Florida Scientist in Every Florida School initiative, we had another awesome school year of live Ocean Expert Exchanges with 1800+ international viewers tuning in.
We were joined by six inspiring marine science and technology experts who shared their research and careers on everything from shark conservation and threats to coral reefs to coastal engineering. Webinar recordings and complementary educational resources can be accessed at any time via our OEE webpage. Stay tuned for our fall lineup!
SPLASH BACK TO SPRING 2023
The spring semester did not disappoint, with an abundance of educational programming both at sea and onshore. From community events to citizen science with Lagoon Drift partners and visits to our alma maters, we shared diverse marine science offerings with audiences far and wide. We also had an exciting series of Coastal Ocean Explorers: Sharks school visits and expeditions with Palm Beach County youth. In particular, we want to share our appreciation for the Society for Science’s STEM Action Grant program, which made our expedition with Roosevelt Community Middle School students possible!
EARTH DAY 2023 COLORING BOOK RELEASED
We are thrilled to be featured once again in Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens' Earth Day Coloring Book in partnership with Florida Crystals, Florida Power & Light and Lewis Longman & Walker PA.
